When asked about Twitter, a few people would raise an eye-brow: “Why would anyone be interested in ‘following’ me? Who would care when I got up and what did I have for breakfast?” Well, unless you are Guy Kawasaki, probably no one.

However, if you have a blog, Twitter is a must for you. Here’s why:

Instant updates. Compare offering RSS updates to your readers vs. Twitter updates. The latter is almost instant. On the other hand, sometimes it takes a few hours for RSS update to propagate to all your readers. Don’t abandon RSS, just add Twitter.

Financial crisis. Layoffs. Uncertainty about the future. On an optimistic note, all of those are just the right reasons to start blogging today, right now on Saturday morning.

I don’t mean blogging for money, it’s a whole other story. Any kind of blog will do you nothing but good. Personal, tech or even a music blog – anything goes. Twitter isn’t enough in this case.

My first blog was initially hosted at my office Win 2003 server, running PHP on IIS (yes, I know). It was, actually, a hack and after a few months the blog was moved to a more reliable hosting at GoDaddy. Now, after more than two years at GoDaddy, the blog switched hosting once again. Here’s why:
