How to Get Installation Media and Do a Clean Install of Windows 10

 

Make sure your device meets the minimum system requirements:

For the latest version of Windows 10, you’ll need to have the following:

CPU: 1GHz or faster supported processor (Here is a list of supported CPUs)

RAM: 1GB for Windows 10 32-bit or 2GB for Windows 10 64-bit

Storage: 32GB of space or more

GPU: DirectX 9 compatible or later with WDDM 1.0 driver

Display: 800x600 resolution or greater

Internet connection: Some versions of Windows 10 require an internet connection during setup.

Install media files for windows 10:

1. Insert your 8 GB or larger USB drive. It doesn't need to be blank, but note that any content on the drive will be erased during the setup.

2. Open the Download Windows 10 website in a browser. There, scroll to the "Create Windows 10 installation media" option and click "Download tool now."

3. Make sure you select the language, edition, and architecture that you want to install on Windows 10. If you are installing on a PC with a 64-bit CPU, you will likely need the 64-bit version. A 32-bit version is required for installation on a PC with a 32-bit CPU. If you don't know for sure, you can check your PC's CPU type.

4. If you are installing Windows 10 on your current PC, leave the Use recommended options for this PC check box selected and the tool will automatically download the correct version from your current PC.

5. You can use this tool to copy the Windows 10 installation files to a USB drive or burn them to a DVD. If you are using a USB drive, it must be at least 4 GB in size. All files on the USB drive will be deleted.

6. If you want to install Windows 10 in a virtual machine, select the ISO file option here. The tool can download the ISO file, boot the downloaded ISO into a virtual machine, and install Windows 10 on it.

7. On the Windows Setup screen, select your language, time and currency format, and keyboard layout. Click “Next” to continue.

8. When you reach the installer screen, select “Install Now” and follow the instructions to install Windows 10 on your PC.
