VirtualBox is a program that emulates a second computer that allows you to install and use an operating system (such as Windows 7) in VirtualBox without changing your computer's actual operating system.
1. Open the VirtualBox website:
Go to https://www.virtualbox.org/ with the Internet browser on your computer. This is the website from which you will download the VirtualBox installation file.
2. Click Download VirtualBox:
The blue button in the middle of the page. This will open the download page.
3. Click Windows Host:
This link appears under the heading "VirtualBox Platform Package 6.1.14". The VirtualBox EXE file will be downloaded to your computer.
4. Open the VirtualBox EXE file:
Navigate to the location where the EXE file was downloaded and double-click the file. This will open the VirtualBox installation window.
5. Navigate to the installation prompt:
- Click Next on the first three pages.
- Click Yes when prompted.
- Click Install
- Click Yes when prompted.
6. Click Install when prompted:
This will allow VirtualBox to begin installing on your computer.
7. Click Finish when prompted:
It's in the lower right part of the window. This closes the installation window and opens VirtualBox. After you've installed and opened VirtualBox, you can create a virtual machine to run any operating system on your PC.
